Āloka-dāna (Dīpa-dāna), Sumanas–Dhūpa–Dīpa Phala: Manu–Suvarṇa and Śukra–Bali Exempla

य एवोक्ता: सुमनसां प्रदाने गुणहेतव: । धूपेष्वपि परिज्ञेयास्त एव प्रीतिवर्धना:

ya evoktāḥ sumanasāṃ pradāne guṇa-hetavaḥ | dhūpeṣv api parijñeyās ta eva prīti-vardhanāḥ ||

Wika ni Śukra: “Ang mismong mga kabutihan at mabubuting bunga na ipinahayag tungkol sa pag-aalay ng mga bulaklak sa mga diyos ay dapat ding maunawaang tumutukoy sa pag-aalay ng insenso. Ang insenso man ay nagpapalago ng kasiyahan ng mga diyos—dapat itong malaman.”
