अध्याय ९५: चित्राङ्गदस्य गन्धर्वेण सह संग्रामः तथा विचित्रवीर्यस्य राज्याभिषेकः

Chitrāṅgada’s duel with the Gandharva and Vicitravīrya’s consecration

ततस्तान्‌ मातर: क्रुद्धाः पुत्रान्‌ निन्युर्यमक्षयम्‌ । ततस्तस्य नरेन्द्रस्य वितथं पुत्रजन्म तत्‌,तब उन शिशुओंकी माताओंने कुपित होकर उनको मार डाला। इससे महाराज भरतका वह पुत्रोत्पादन व्यर्थ हो गया

tatastān mātaraḥ kruddhāḥ putrān ninyur yamakṣayam | tatastasya narendrasya vitathaṃ putrajanma tat ||

Pagkaraan, ang mga ina, sa tindi ng galit, ay dinala ang kanilang mga anak sa tahanan ni Yama (ibig sabihin, ipinapatay nila). Kaya para sa haring iyon, nauwi sa wala ang pag-aanak; ang inaasahang supling ay naglaho.
