ययाति–देवयानी संवादः
Yayāti–Devayānī Dialogue and Śukra’s Consent
आचक्षे वो दानवा बालिशा: स्थ सिद्ध: कचो वत्स्यति मत्सकाशे । संजीविनीं प्राप्य विद्यां महात्मा तुल्यप्रभावो ब्राह्मणो ब्रह्मभूत:
ācakṣe vo dānavā bāliśāḥ sthā siddhaḥ kaco vatsyati matsakāśe | saṃjīvinīṃ prāpya vidyāṃ mahātmā tulyaprabhāvo brāhmaṇo brahmabhūtaḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “Sinasabi ko sa inyo, O mga Dānava na hangal—tumindig kayong matatag at makinig: ang nagkamit ng siddhi na si Kaca ay mananatili sa aking piling. Pagkamit niya ng kaalamang Saṃjīvinī, ang kaalamang nagbabalik-buhay, ang dakilang brāhmaṇang iyon ay magiging kapantay sa kapangyarihan (ng mga pinakadakila), matatatag sa Brahman—isang nakarating sa kalagayan ng Brahman.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
True power is grounded in disciplined attainment of knowledge and inner realization: the Saṃjīvinī vidyā is not merely a technique but a sign of perfected learning, and ‘brahmabhūta’ frames the highest ethical-spiritual ideal—steadiness in brahman rather than pride or violence.
Vaiśaṃpāyana addresses the Dānavas and announces that Kaca, now ‘siddha’ (successful in his quest), will remain in the speaker’s presence after obtaining the Saṃjīvinī life-restoring knowledge, thereby becoming formidable and spiritually elevated.
