Chapter 74: Non-anger, Forbearance, and the Ethics of Residence
स्पृशतु त्वां समाश्शलिष्य पुत्रो5यं प्रियदर्शन: । पुत्रस्पर्शात् सुखतर: स्पर्शो लोके न विद्यते,“आपका यह पुत्र देखनेमें कितना प्यारा है। यह आपके अंगोंसे लिपटकर आपका स्पर्श करे। संसारमें पुत्रके स्पर्शसे बढ़कर सुखदायक स्पर्श और किसीका नहीं है
spṛśatu tvāṃ samāśliṣya putro 'yaṃ priyadarśanaḥ | putrasparśāt sukhataro sparśo loke na vidyate ||
Hayaan mong yakapin ka at hipuin ka ng batang ito na kaaya-ayang pagmasdan—ang iyong anak na lalaki. Sa daigdig, walang haplos na higit na nakalulugod kaysa haplos ng sariling anak.
दुष्यन्त उवाच
The verse highlights the unique, unsurpassed joy and emotional fulfillment associated with a child’s embrace, affirming familial bonds as a powerful human good and a support for dharmic household life.
King Duṣyanta, moved by affection and recognition, urges that the boy (his son) be allowed to embrace and touch the mother, emphasizing how incomparable a son’s touch is—an intimate moment underscoring acceptance and reunion.
