Duḥṣanta–Śakuntalā: Gandharva Marriage and Succession Condition
गणस्त्वप्सरसां यो वै मया राजन प्रकीर्तित: । तस्य भाग: क्षितौ जज्ञे नियोगाद् वासवस्य ह,महाराज! मैंने अप्सराओोंके जिस समुदायका वर्णन किया है, उसका अंश भी इन्द्रके आदेशसे इस पृथ्वीपर उत्पन्न हुआ था
gaṇas tv apsarasāṃ yo vai mayā rājan prakīrtitaḥ | tasya bhāgaḥ kṣitau jajñe niyogād vāsavasya ha ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O Hari, ang pangkat ng mga Apsaras na aking inilarawan—isang bahagi ng mismong pangkat na iyon ay isinilang sa lupaing ito, tunay nga, sa utos ni Vāsava (Indra).”
