Jaratkāru’s Conditional Marriage Vow and Vāsuki’s Offer (जरत्कारु-विवाह-नियमः)
तत्र रक्षां कुरुष्वेति पुन: पुनरथाब्रवीत् । तदन्यथा न शक््यं च कर्तु केनचिदप्युत,इस दशामें आप अपनी रक्षाकी व्यवस्था करें। यह मुनिने बार-बार कहा है। उस शापको कोई भी टाल नहीं सकता
tatra rakṣāṁ kuruṣveti punaḥ punar athābravīt | tad anyathā na śakyaṁ ca kartuṁ kenacid apy uta ||
At muli’t muli niyang sinabi: “Maghanda ka roon ng pag-iingat at pagtatanggol.” Sapagkat walang sinuman ang makapagpapabago pa nito—ang sumpang iyon ay hindi maiiwasan ninuman.
गौरयुख उवाच
Even when an outcome is unavoidable (such as the effect of a curse), one should still exercise responsible agency—taking prudent measures for protection and acting wisely within the limits of what can be changed.
A speaker repeatedly urges someone to arrange protection, emphasizing that the foretold consequence cannot be prevented by anyone; the counsel is to prepare and safeguard oneself rather than attempt the impossible reversal of destiny.
