प्रोवाच चैनमयमस्म्यत्र केदारखण्डे नि:सरमाणमुदकमवारणीयं संरोद्धूं संविष्टो भगवच्छब्दं श्रुत्वैव सहसा विदार्य केदारखण्डं भवन्तमुपस्थित:,फिर उनसे विनयपूर्वक बोला--'भगवन्! मैं यह हूँ, क्यारीकी टूटी हुई मेड़से निकलते हुए अनिवार्य जलको रोकनेके लिये स्वयं ही यहाँ लेट गया था। इस समय आपकी आवाज सुनते ही सहसा उस मेड़को विदीर्ण करके आपके पास आ खड़ा हुआ
provāca cainam ayam asmy atra kedārakhaṇḍe niḥsaramāṇam udakam avāraṇīyaṃ saṃroddhuṃ saṃviṣṭo bhagavacchabdaṃ śrutvaiva sahasā vidārya kedārakhaṇḍaṃ bhavantam upasthitaḥ
Magalang niyang sinabi: “Kagalang-galang na guro, ako ito. Dito sa bahaging ito ng bukid, ako mismo ang humiga upang pigilan ang tubig na di-mapipigil na lumulusot sa nabutas na pilapil. Ngunit nang marinig ko ang banal na tawag ninyo, bigla kong binutas ang hangganan ng pilapil at dumating upang tumayo sa harap ninyo.”
राम उवाच
The verse foregrounds ethical priority and reverence: even amid urgent worldly responsibility (stopping destructive water), one responds promptly and respectfully to a worthy person’s call, showing humility and readiness to serve.
Rama explains that he had positioned himself in a field-plot to block water escaping through a broken embankment; upon hearing the reverential call (“Bhagavan!”), he immediately broke through the field boundary and came before the person who called him.
