The verse teaches that Agni (sacred fire) is the central medium through which both divine worship (havya) and ancestral duty (kavya) are properly accomplished; reverence to Agni is presented as reverence to multiple cosmic functions and priestly authority.
Mandapāla addresses the deity of fire in praise, identifying him with key divine roles. The speech underscores Agni’s indispensability in sustaining correct ritual practice and fulfilling obligations to gods and ancestors.
