Jarītā–Śārṅgā-saṃvāda: Ākhu-haraṇa and the Approach of Agni (आखुहरणं अग्न्यागमनश्च)
दुर्वासा इति विख्यात: स हि त्वां याजयिष्यति । मन्नियोगान्महातेजा: सम्भारा: सम्मश्रियन्तु ते,वे दुर्वासा नामसे विख्यात हैं। महातेजस्वी दुर्वासा मेरी आज्ञासे तुम्हारा यज्ञ करायेंगे; तुम सामग्री जुटाओ”
durvāsā iti vikhyātaḥ sa hi tvāṃ yājayiṣyati | manniyogān mahātejāḥ sambhārāḥ sammaśriyantu te ||
“Siya’y tanyag sa pangalang Durvāsā. Siya ang mamumuno sa iyong sakripisyo. Sa aking utos, ang makapangyarihan at maningning na pantas na iyon ang magsasagawa ng iyong ritwal; kaya tipunin at ihanda mo ang mga kailangang handog.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores disciplined adherence to rightful instruction in sacred duties: when a qualified authority appoints a potent and renowned officiant, one should respond with orderly preparation and readiness, honoring both ritual propriety and the chain of command.
Vaiśampāyana identifies Durvāsā as the famed sage who will serve as the officiant for the listener’s sacrifice, explicitly stating that this is by his own directive, and urges that all sacrificial requisites be promptly assembled.
