Śārṅgakānāṃ Avināśaḥ (Why the Śārṅga Birds Were Spared) | शार्ङ्गकानामविनाशः
सम्पूज्यमान: पौरैश्व ब्राह्मणैश्व सहस्रश: | विवेश भवन राज्ञ: पुरन्दरगृहोपमम्,पुरवासी मनुष्यों तथा सहसों ब्राह्मणोंद्वारा सम्मानित हो उन्होंने राजभवनके भीतर प्रवेश किया। वह घर इन्द्रभवनकी शोभाको भी तिरस्कृत कर रहा था
sampūjyamānaḥ pauraiś ca brāhmaṇaiś ca sahasraśaḥ | viveśa bhavanaṃ rājñaḥ purandaragṛhopamam ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Paulit-ulit siyang pinarangalan ng mga taga-lungsod at ng libu-libong brāhmaṇa; at pumasok siya sa palasyo ng hari—marilag na wari’y tahanan ni Purandara (Indra). Ipinahihiwatig ng tagpong ito ang isang huwarang panlipunan at etikal: ang paggalang ng bayan at ang pagpapahalaga ng mga brāhmaṇa ang nagkakaloob ng pagiging lehitimo at ng pagpapala sa pook-hari at sa taong tinatanggap.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Public honour (from citizens) and ritual-intellectual sanction (from brāhmaṇas) are portrayed as markers of rightful standing and auspicious entry into royal space, reflecting a dharmic ideal where kingship and society are stabilized through mutual recognition and reverence.
A respected figure, welcomed by the townspeople and many brāhmaṇas, proceeds into the king’s palace, which is described as comparable in splendour to Indra’s celestial mansion.
