पौष्ये पर्वणि माहात्म्यमुत्तड़कस्योपवर्णितम्,पौष्यपर्वमें उत्तंकके माहात्म्यका वर्णन है। पौलोमपर्वमें भूगुवंशके विस्तारका वर्णन है। आस्तीकपर्वमें सब नागों तथा गरुड़की उत्पत्तिकी कथा है
pauṣye parvaṇi māhātmyam uttaṅkasyopavarṇitam | pauṣyaparvaṇi uttaṅkake māhātmyakā varṇanam asti | paulomaparvaṇi bhṛguvaṁśasya vistārasya varṇanam asti | āstīkaparvaṇi sarvanāgānāṁ tathā garuḍasya utpattikī kathā asti |
Sa bahaging Pauṣya, inilalarawan ang kadakilaan ni Uttaṅka. Sa Pauṣya-parvan, isinasalaysay ang huwarang dangal ni Uttaṅka; sa Pauloma-parvan, inilalatag ang paglawak ng angkan ni Bhṛgu; at sa Āstīka-parvan, ikinukuwento ang pinagmulan ng mga Nāga at ni Garuḍa.

The verse functions as a thematic index: it highlights how the Mahābhārata grounds later conflicts in earlier models of conduct (māhātmya), in the continuity of lineages (vaṁśa), and in origin-stories that explain enduring enmities and alliances (Nāgas and Garuḍa). Ethically, it suggests that personal virtue and inherited obligations shape the epic’s unfolding dharma.
The speaker summarizes what each sub-section (parvan) contains: the Pauṣya-parvan narrates Uttaṅka’s greatness; the Pauloma-parvan expands the Bhṛgu family line; and the Āstīka-parvan recounts the origins of the serpents and Garuḍa. It is a structural signpost within Ādi Parva.
