आमन्त्य ब्राह्मा्ं पूर्वमभिवाद्यानुमान्य च । समैरुदड्मुखैर्मार्गर्यथोद्दिष्टं परंतपा:,परंतप! कुन्तीकुमारोंने पहले ही अपने आश्रयदाता ब्राह्मणसे पूछकर जानेकी आज्ञा ले ली थी और चलते समय बड़े आदरके साथ उन्हें प्रणाम किया। वे सब लोग उत्तर दिशाकी ओर जानेवाले सीधे मार्गोॉद्वारा उत्तराभिमुख हो अपने अभीष्ट स्थान पंचालदेशकी ओर बढ़ने लगे
āmantya brāhmān pūrvam abhivādyānumānya ca | samair udanmukhair mārgair yathoddiṣṭaṃ paraṃtapāḥ ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Matapos munang magpaalam sa mga brāhmaṇa—nagbigay-galang at tumanggap ng kanilang pagsang-ayon—umalis ang mga anak ni Kuntī. Sumunod sila sa mga tuwid na daang nakaharap sa hilaga, gaya ng itinuro sa kanila, at ang mga tagasunog ng kaaway ay nagpatuloy patungo sa minimithing hantungan: ang lupain ng Pañcāla.
