मन्दर-समुद्रमन्थन-वर्णनम् / Description of the Churning of the Ocean with Mount Mandara
अस्मच्छुश्रूषणे नित्यं पिता हि निरतस्तव । आचहष्टैतद् यथाख्यानं पिता ते त्वं तथा वद,आपके पिता सदा हमलोगोंकी सेवामें लगे रहते थे। उन्होंने इस उपाख्यानको जिस प्रकार कहा है, उसी रूपमें आप भी कहिये
Śaunaka uvāca | asmacchuśrūṣaṇe nityaṃ pitā hi niratastava | ācahaṣṭaitad yathākhyānaṃ pitā te tvaṃ tathā vada ||
Wika ni Śaunaka: “Ang iyong ama’y laging masigasig sa paglilingkod sa amin. Kung paano niya isinalaysay nang ganap ang kuwentong ito, gayon din ang iyong gawin—isalaysay mo rin sa gayong paraan.”
शौनक उवाच
The verse highlights dharma in the form of reverence and gratitude toward elders and teachers, and the ethical duty of faithful transmission—recounting a received tradition accurately, without distortion.
At the Naimiṣa forest gathering, Śaunaka addresses the narrator (Sauti), recalling how Sauti’s father served the sages and narrated the story; Śaunaka requests Sauti to retell the same account in the same manner.
