एकचक्रानिवासे ब्राह्मणगृहदुःखश्रवणम् | Hearing the Brāhmaṇa Household’s Distress at Ekacakrā
एवमुक्त: प्रत्युवाच धर्मराजो युधिष्ठिर: । विदुरं विदुषां श्रेष्ठ ज्ञातमित्येव पाण्डव:,इस प्रकार कहे जानेपर पाण्डुनन्दन धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरने दिद्वानोंमें श्रेष्ठ विदुरजीसे कहा --'मैंने आपकी बात अच्छी तरह समझ ली”
evam uktaḥ pratyuvāca dharmarājo yudhiṣṭhiraḥ | viduraṃ viduṣāṃ śreṣṭha jñātam ity eva pāṇḍavaḥ ||
Nang masabihan nang gayon, sumagot si Dharmarāja Yudhiṣṭhira kay Vidura, ang pinakadakila sa mga marurunong: “Nauunawaan ko ang iyong sinabi.”
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights an ethical ideal: a righteous leader listens carefully to wise counsel and acknowledges understanding without ego. Yudhiṣṭhira’s brief reply models humility, receptivity, and respect for dharmic instruction.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that after Vidura has spoken, Yudhiṣṭhira responds directly to him—addressing Vidura as the foremost of the wise—and states that he has understood the message.
