Adhyāya 129 — Public Acclaim of the Pāṇḍavas and Duryodhana’s Appeal to Dhṛtarāṣṭra
विकारं न हाृजनयत् सुतीक्षणमपि तद् विषम् । भीमसंहनने भीमे अजीर्यत वृकोदरे,यद्यपि वह विष बड़ा तेज था, तो भी उनके लिये कोई बिगाड़ न कर सका। भयंकर शरीरवाले भीमसेनके उदरमें वृक नामकी अग्नि थी; अतः वहाँ जाकर वह विष पच गया
Vaiśampāyana uvāca |
vikāraṃ na hājanayat sutīkṣṇam api tad viṣam |
bhīmasaṃhanane bhīme ajīryata vṛkodare ||
Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Kahit ang lasong ubod ng talim at tindi ay hindi nakapagdulot ng anumang masamang pagbabago kay Bhīma. Sa kakila-kilabot na Bhīma, na may katawang ubod ng tibay, ang lason ay natunaw sa tiyan ni Vṛkodara—nilamon ng apoy sa loob—kaya nabigo ang balak na manakit.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Harm intended through deceit (such as poisoning) may fail against steadfast strength and protective fortune; the passage highlights the futility of adharma and the resilience of those destined to uphold dharma.
A powerful poison administered to Bhīma does not affect him; due to his formidable constitution and inner digestive fire, the poison is digested in his belly, thwarting the attempt to harm him.
