तत एनां बलादू राजा निजग्राह रहो गताम् । वार्यमाणस्तया देव्या विस्फुरन्त्या यथाबलम्,अतः एकान्तमें मिली हुई माद्रीको महाराज पाण्डुने बलपूर्वक पकड़ लिया। देवी माद्री राजाकी पकड़से छूटनेके लिये यथाशक्ति चेष्टा करती हुई उन्हें बार-बार रोक रही थी
tata enāṃ balādū rājā nijagrāha raho gatām | vāryamāṇas tayā devyā visphurantyā yathābalam ||
Pagkaraan, nang matagpuan ng hari ang babae na nag-iisa sa isang liblib na pook, sinunggaban niya ito sa dahas. Ang marangal na ginang ay nagpumiglas nang buong lakas upang makawala, at paulit-ulit siyang pumigil at tumutol sa kanya.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ethical failure that occurs when power and desire override restraint and consent. By explicitly depicting the woman’s resistance, the narrative signals adharma and foreshadows harmful consequences that arise from coercive action, even when committed by a king.
Vaiśampāyana narrates that King Pāṇḍu encounters Mādrī alone in a secluded place and forcibly seizes her. Mādrī struggles to escape and repeatedly tries to stop him, resisting with all her strength.
