Āstravidyā-Pradarśana: The Kuru Princes’ Public Demonstration of Arms (आस्त्रविद्या-प्रदर्शनम्)

सा त्वं माद्रीं प्लवेनैव तारयैनामनिन्दिते । अपत्यसंविभागेन परां कीर्तिमवाप्रुहि,“अनिन्दिते! इसी प्रकार तुम भी इस माद्रीको नौकापर बिठाकर पार लगा दो; इसे भी संतति देकर उत्तम यश प्राप्त करो”

sā tvaṁ mādrīṁ plavenaiva tārayainām anindite | apatyasaṁvibhāgena parāṁ kīrtim avāpruhi ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: “O babaeng walang kapintasan, ikaw man ay dapat gumawa nito: itawid mo si Mādrī na wari’y isinasakay sa isang bangka—iligtas mo siya at ihatid sa kabila nang ligtas. Sa pamamagitan ng pagbabahagi ng biyaya ng supling, kamtin mo ang pinakamataas na karangalan.”
