tāṁś ca devagaṇān sarvās tapaḥsiddhā maharṣayaḥ | vimānagiryagragatān dadṛśur netare janāḥ ||
Wika ni Vaiśampāyana: Ang mga pulutong ng mga diyos na iyon, na nakatindig sa unahan sa ibabaw ng mga sasakyang panghimpapawid at sa mga tuktok ng bundok, ay nakikita lamang ng mga dakilang rishi na ganap sa pamamagitan ng pag-aayuno at pagninilay; hindi sila natatanaw ng karaniwang tao.

Spiritual perception is presented as dependent on inner qualification: those perfected by tapas can perceive divine realities that remain inaccessible to ordinary sense-bound observers.
