Adhyāya 123 — Droṇa’s Pedagogy: Arjuna’s Preeminence, Ekalavya’s Self-Training, and the Bhāsa-Lakṣya Trial

समवेत्य च देवानां गणा: पार्थमपूजयन्‌ । काद्रवेया वैनतेया गन्धर्वाप्सरसस्तथा । प्रजानां पतय: सर्वे सप्त चैव महर्षय:,फिर झुंड-के-झुंड देवता वहाँ एकत्र होकर अर्जुनकी प्रशंसा करने लगे। कढद्रूके पुत्र (नाग), विनताके पुत्र (गरुड पक्षी), गन्धर्व, अप्सराएँ, प्रजापति, सप्तर्षिगण--भरद्वाज, कश्यप, गौतम, विश्वामित्र, जमदग्नि, वसिष्ठ तथा जो नक्षत्रके रूपमें सूर्यास्त होनेके पश्चात्‌ उदित होते हैं, वे भगवान्‌ अत्रि भी वहाँ आये

samavetya ca devānāṁ gaṇāḥ pārtham apūjayan | kādraveyā vainateyā gandharvāpsarasas tathā | prajānāṁ patayaḥ sarve sapta caiva maharṣayaḥ ||

Sinabi ni Vaiśaṃpāyana: Nang magtipon doon ang mga pangkat ng mga diyos, pinarangalan nila si Pārtha (Arjuna) sa pamamagitan ng papuri at paggalang. Dumating din ang mga anak ni Kadrū (mga Nāga), ang anak ni Vinatā (si Garuḍa), ang mga Gandharva at Apsaras, ang lahat ng Prajāpati—mga panginoon ng mga nilalang—at gayundin ang pitong dakilang rishi; hudyat na ang lakas at asal ni Arjuna ay kinilala sa hanay ng mga diyos, ng mga nilalang na makalangit, at ng mga pantas, at na ang tunay na kahusayan ay nararapat ipahayag at parangalan sa hayag.
