Pāṇḍu’s Marriages, Conquests, and Triumphal Return (पाण्डोर्विवाह-विजय-प्रत्यागमनम्)

वैशम्पायन उवाच ततः सत्यवती भीष्मं वाचा संसज्जमानया । विहसन्तीव सत्रीडमिदं वचनमब्रवीत्‌,वैशम्पायनजी कहते हैं--जनमेजय! तब सत्यवती कुछ हँसती और साथ ही लजाती हुई भीष्मजीसे इस प्रकार बोली। बोलते समय उसकी वाणी संकोचसे कुछ अस्पष्ट-सी हो जाती थी

vaiśampāyana uvāca tataḥ satyavatī bhīṣmaṃ vācā saṃsajjamānayā | vihasantīva sa-trīḍam idaṃ vacanam abravīt |

Sinabi ni Vaiśampāyana: Pagkaraan, si Satyavatī, na nanginginig ang tinig sa pag-aatubili, ay nagsalita kay Bhīṣma. Ngumingiti na wari’y bahagyang tumatawa, subalit may mahinhin na hiya ng isang babae, sinabi niya ang mga salitang ito—at ang kanyang pananalita’y naging malabo dahil sa pagpipigil ng dangal at pagkamahiyain.
