Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It underscores that even the highest celestial authorities are powerless without alignment to Pati (Shiva); Linga worship trains the paśu (individual soul) to surrender egoic power and seek refuge in the Lord who steadies the cosmos.
By implication, Shiva-tattva is the transcendent governance behind events: when the Supreme wills, Devas, Nāgas, and their might are displaced—revealing the Lord as the ultimate regulator beyond all contingent powers.
The takeaway is inner Pāśupata discipline: cultivating detachment from status and power (Indrahood) and establishing devotion (bhakti) and surrender (śaraṇāgati) to Pati through Linga-centered worship and contemplation.
