व्यपोहनस्तवनिरूपण-प्रसङ्गे नक्तभोजन-शिवव्रतविधिः (वार्षिक-प्रतिमास-क्रमः)

पृथिवीं भाजनं कृत्वा भुक्त्वा पर्वसु मानवः अहोरात्रेण चैकेन त्रिरात्रफलमश्नुते

pṛthivīṃ bhājanaṃ kṛtvā bhuktvā parvasu mānavaḥ ahorātreṇa caikena trirātraphalamaśnute

Sa mga banal na araw ng parva, kung ang tao’y gawing sisidlan ang mismong lupa at kumain nang may kababaang-loob at pagpipigil, sa isang pagtalima na isang araw at isang gabi ay matatamo niya ang bunga na katumbas ng panatang tatlong gabi. Ang ganitong pagpipigil-sa-sarili’y nagpapahina sa pāśa at inihaharap ang paśu kay Pati, si Panginoong Śiva.
