Suta
It introduces a vrata-focused teaching stream: Sūta frames the coming instructions as auspicious disciplines transmitted by Nandin, implying that Linga-worship is strengthened through regulated observances (vrata) that purify the pashu (soul) and orient it toward Pati (Śiva).
Indirectly, it presents Śiva-tattva as accessible through lineage and instruction: Nandin, as Śiva’s foremost attendant, transmits dharma that leads the bound soul (pashu) away from pāśa (bondage) toward Śiva, the supreme Pati.
Vrata-sādhana is highlighted—structured vow-practice that supports Śiva-pūjā and inner discipline, aligning with Pāśupata-style purification and steadiness in worship.
