Suta Goswami (narrating to the sages of Naimisharanya)
It presents the phala (spiritual result) of Shaiva merit: ascent to an exalted loka and, beyond enjoyment of karmic rewards, final release from pāśa—implying that Linga-centered dharma culminates in moksha, not merely svarga.
By implying liberation “there itself,” it points to Pati’s sovereignty over karma and lokas: Shiva-tattva grants not only bhoga (experience of worlds) but also vimoksha (release), transcending the pasha that binds the pashu.
The verse highlights a results-framework typical of Shaiva vrata/puja and allied Vedic-agni merit: disciplined worship and dharma yield higher lokas, and when matured by Shaiva grace, culminate in liberation rather than repeated return.
