Pāśupata-vrata Māhātmya: Dvādaśa-Liṅga Mahāvrata, Month-wise Dravya, and Pūjā-krama
आश्विने चैव विप्रेन्द्राः गोमेदकमयं शुभम् प्रवालेनैव कार्तिक्यां तथा वै मार्गशीर्षके
āśvine caiva viprendrāḥ gomedakamayaṃ śubham pravālenaiva kārtikyāṃ tathā vai mārgaśīrṣake
O pinakamainam sa mga Brahmin! Sa buwan ng Āśvina, maghandog ng mapalad na kaloob na gawa sa gomeda (hessonite). Sa Kārttika, maghandog din ng pravāla (korales); at gayundin sa Mārgaśīrṣa, ayon sa itinakdang buwanang pagsasagawa, upang ang paśu (kaluluwang nakagapos) ay magtamo ng bisa ng kabutihan na sumusuporta sa pagsamba kay Śiva at nagpapaluwag sa pāśa (mga gapos) sa biyaya ni Pati (ang Panginoon).
