योगीश्वरान् सशिष्यांश् च योगं युञ्जीत योगवित् आसनं स्वस्तिकं बद्ध्वा पद्ममर्धासनं तु वा

Ang nakaaalam ng Yoga ay dapat italì ang sarili sa Yoga kasama ng mga marangal na Yogin at ng kanilang mga alagad. Pagkatapos maglagay ng matatag na pustura—ang Svastika-sit, o ang Padma (Lotus) na upo, o maging ang kalahating upo—saka simulan ang pagsasanay.
