Adhyaya 72 — Puradāha: Rudra’s Cosmic Chariot, Pāśupata-Vrata, and Brahmā’s Shiva-Stuti
सर्वरोगैर्न बाध्येत आपदो न स्पृशन्ति तम् धनमायुर्यशो विद्यां प्रभावमतुलं लभेत्
sarvarogairna bādhyeta āpado na spṛśanti tam dhanamāyuryaśo vidyāṃ prabhāvamatulaṃ labhet
Hindi siya dinadapuan ng anumang karamdaman; hindi siya sinasaling ng mga kapahamakan. Nakakamit niya ang yaman, mahabang buhay, dangal, banal na kaalaman, at di-mapapantayang lakas na espirituwal—sa matatag na bhakti kay Pati, Panginoong Śiva, ayon sa Liṅga-upāsanā.
Suta Goswami (narrating the phala-śruti to the sages of Naimiṣāraṇya)
It functions as a phala-śruti: it declares that sincere Liṅga-upāsanā draws Śiva’s anugraha (grace), granting protection from roga (disease) and āpada (calamity) and bestowing prosperity, longevity, and spiritual potency.
Śiva is implied as Pati—the sovereign bestower of both bhoga (worldly well-being like wealth and fame) and jñāna (vidyā leading toward liberation), whose grace loosens pasha (bondage) that manifests as suffering and vulnerability.
The verse points to disciplined Śiva-bhakti expressed through Liṅga-pūjā and allied Pāśupata-oriented observances—regular worship, mantra-japa, and purity of conduct—through which prabhāva (spiritual radiance) arises.
