Adhyaya 4: अहोरात्र-युग-मन्वन्तर-कल्पमान तथा प्रलयान्ते सृष्ट्युपक्रमः
मुहूर्तपञ्चदशिका रजनी तादृशं त्वहः पित्र्ये रात्र्यहनी मासः प्रविभागस्तयोः पुनः
muhūrtapañcadaśikā rajanī tādṛśaṃ tvahaḥ pitrye rātryahanī māsaḥ pravibhāgastayoḥ punaḥ
Ang isang gabi ay binubuo ng labinlimang muhūrta, at ang araw ay gayon din ang sukat. Sa daigdig ng mga Pitṛ (mga ninuno), ang kanilang ‘gabi at araw’ na magkasama ay bumubuo ng isang buwan—ito ang karagdagang paghahati ng dalawang iyon.
