FAQs

It prescribes preparatory śānti and protective Vedic recitations—especially Atharvavedic and other named hymns—to clear obstacles (vighna) and establish ritual purity so the Linga-puja becomes effective and undisturbed.

By emphasizing repeated śānti and protection before worship, it implies Shiva as Pati—the supreme Lord who grants śānti (peace) and releases the pashu (soul) from pasha (bondage) when approached through disciplined mantra and rite.

A puja-vidhi element: repeated śānti-karmas and mantra-prayoga (notably Atharva-linked protective chants) as a practical means of removing impediments and stabilizing the worshipper’s mind for Shaiva sadhana.
