उभावभिहितौ धर्मौ वेदादेव विनिः सृतौ / शिष्टाचारस्तृतीयः स्याच्छ्रतिस्मृत्योरलाभतः

ubhāvabhihitau dharmau vedādeva viniḥ sṛtau / śiṣṭācārastṛtīyaḥ syācchratismṛtyoralābhataḥ

Ang dalawang dharma na ito ay tunay na nagmumula sa Veda. Kapag hindi masumpungan ang Śruti at Smṛti, ang asal at kaugalian ng mga marunong at may dangal (śiṣṭa-ācāra) ang nagiging ikatlong batayan.
