Vedantic Theme: Īśvara-bhakti supported by guru-upāsanā; the Guru as upāya (means) for correct knowledge and devotion.
Application: During pūjā/arcana, perform full prostration to the central deity (Śrīnivāsa/Devī Nārāyaṇa) and offer respectful salutation to one’s Guru at the indicated side-position, maintaining ritual order and humility.
Primary Rasa: shanta
Secondary Rasa: adbhuta
Type: ritual space (mandala/pūjā-vedi)
Related Themes: Garuda Purana 3.24 (pīṭha-nyāsa/namaskāra-vidhi sequence)
This verse emphasizes complete reverence (pūrṇam) to the presiding form of Nārāyaṇa along with Devī, indicating that worship is made whole by honoring the divine center of the pīṭha.
It specifies a ritual orientation: bow to the deity seated in the middle of the pīṭha, and additionally offer namaskāra to the Guru-deva on the deity’s left side, outside the pedestal portion.
During pūjā, keep the deity as the central focus, and consciously include respect to one’s teacher/lineage (guru) as part of disciplined, dharmic worship.
