Śrāddha Vidhi: Kāla (Timing), Pātra (Recipient), and Karma (Procedure) for Pitṛ-tarpaṇa and Piṇḍa

द्विगुणांस्तु कुशान्दत्त्वा उशन्तस्त्वेत्यृचा पितॄन् / आवाह्य तदनु ज्ञातो जपेदायन्तुनस्ततः

dviguṇāṃstu kuśāndattvā uśantastvetyṛcā pitṝn / āvāhya tadanu jñāto japedāyantunastataḥ

Matapos maghandog ng damong kuśa nang dobleng dami, sa taludtod ng Ṛgveda na nagsisimula sa “uśantas tvā…”, anyayahan ang mga Pitṛ (mga ninuno). Pagkaraan, kapag batid na ang wastong paraan, bigkasin: “Nawa’y dumating sila sa amin.”
