Vedantic Theme: Body as a field (kṣetra) for disciplined awareness; mapping inner instruments to transcend identification with gross embodiment.

Application: In prāṇāyāma and pratyāhāra, contemplate the lotus-center and observe subtle impulses (e.g., yawning/sneezing/retention functions attributed to subsidiary vāyus) without reactivity; use as a diagnostic map for meditation obstacles.

Primary Rasa: adbhuta

Secondary Rasa: shanta

Type: subtle-body lotus (cakra/padma) and nāḍī network

FAQs

They are subtle channels in the inner (lotus) anatomy through which prāṇa functions; knowing them supports understanding how the jīva is carried by prāṇic forces at death and in post-death transition.

By pointing to the subtle-body framework—presiding powers, nāḍīs, and specific vāyus—through which consciousness and life-force operate; this anatomy underlies how departure from the body is described in Garuda Purana narratives.

Cultivate disciplined breath and ethical living (dharma) to steady prāṇa and mind; this aligns the inner system described here and supports calm, aware living and dying.
