Varāha Confronts Hiraṇyākṣa: The Challenge, the Rescue of Earth, and the Opening of the Mace-Duel

Thus end the Bhaktivedanta purports of the Third Canto, Eighteenth Chapter, of the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam, entitled “The Battle Between Lord Boar and the Demon Hiraṇyākṣa.”
It states that the time of death is ordained (vihita) and arrives inevitably; the Lord is urged to act according to divine purpose to remove the burden of evil and reestablish peace.
Because Hiraṇyākṣa is obstructing cosmic order by terrorizing the worlds; the devas recognize that his destined end has come and implore the Lord to finish the battle and restore safety.
Do your duty with courage when the moment demands it—act decisively for protection of others and restoration of order, while remembering that outcomes ultimately rest in the Lord’s arrangement.
