The Lord’s Apology to the Kumāras and the Fall of Jaya and Vijaya
This verse shows that even in Vaikuṇṭha, a slight that results in offense to great sages is taken seriously, and the Lord Himself approves the resulting consequence as righteous.
Because the sages were offended by the gatekeepers’ behavior, and the Lord upholds dharma by honoring the sages and validating the consequence that followed from that offense.
Treat saints, teachers, and sincere devotees with humility; disrespect creates spiritual obstacles, while honoring the holy elevates one’s devotion and character.
