Diti’s Untimely Desire and the Birth-Cause of the Asura Line
Prelude to Hiranyākṣa–Varāha

According to Ṛṣabhadeva, one should not become a father or mother unless one is confident that he can beget children whom he can deliver from the clutches of birth and death. Human life is the only opportunity to get out of the material scene, which is full of the miseries of birth, death, old age and diseases. Every human being should be given the opportunity to take advantage of his human form of life, and a father like Kaśyapa is supposed to beget good children for the purpose of liberation.
This verse says that when a woman attains an honored, virtuous husband, her glory spreads widely, and such a union naturally yields illustrious progeny.
Diti praises Kashyapa’s stature and virtue, implying that a husband like him brings honor and blessed offspring—part of her persuasion within the narrative of their marital exchange.
Choose and cultivate character, responsibility, and dharma in family life—because virtue in partnership shapes reputation, stability, and the future of one’s children.
