Vyāsa’s Vision, the Power of Bhāgavatam, and the Arrest of Aśvatthāmā
This verse shows Kṛṣṇa personally consoling the afflicted devotee (Uttarā) when she hears of her sons’ death, revealing His compassion and intimate care for those who take shelter of Him.
Uttarā was devastated after hearing of the killing of her children; Kṛṣṇa, present among the Pāṇḍavas, comforted her as part of His protection of His devotees and the Kuru dynasty’s remaining heirs.
In times of loss, seek shelter in bhakti—remembering Kṛṣṇa’s presence and compassion—while offering support and consolation to others who are suffering.
