तिमेर्बृहद्रथस्तस्माच्छतानीक: सुदासज: । शतानीकाद् दुर्दमनस्तस्यापत्यं महीनर: ॥ ४३ ॥
timer bṛhadrathas tasmāc chatānīkaḥ sudāsajaḥ śatānīkād durdamanas tasyāpatyaṁ mahīnaraḥ
Mula kay Timi ay isisilang si Bṛhadratha; mula kay Bṛhadratha ay si Sudāsa; at mula kay Sudāsa ay si Śatānīka. Mula kay Śatānīka ay si Durdamana, at ang anak niya ay si Mahīnara.
It lists a succession of kings—Timi, Bṛhadratha, Śatānīka (connected with Sudāsa), then Durdama, and finally Mahīnara—showing the continuity of the Chandravansha line.
Śukadeva Gosvāmī speaks this verse to King Parīkṣit while narrating the dynastic histories in Canto 9.
They train the reader to see history as sacred continuity under dharma, encouraging humility and remembrance that all worldly power is temporary, while devotion to Bhagavān is enduring.
