The Rise of Soma-vaṁśa: Budha’s Birth and Purūravā–Urvaśī; The Origin of Karma-kāṇḍa in Tretā-yuga
This verse shows Purūravas welcoming Urvaśī and inviting her to remain with him for “everlasting years,” illustrating how intense attraction can make one imagine permanence in what is temporary.
Upon meeting the celestial nymph Urvaśī, Purūravas became captivated and, driven by attraction, received her with hospitality and proposed ongoing enjoyment and companionship.
It cautions against confusing momentary attraction with lasting fulfillment; practice discernment, keep relationships aligned with dharma, and remember that true lasting satisfaction is sought through devotion and self-mastery.
