Uddhava’s Counsel: The Jarāsandha Resolution and Kṛṣṇa’s Arrival at Indraprastha
अस्माकं च महानर्थो ह्येतेनैव भविष्यति । यशश्च तव गोविन्द राज्ञो बद्धान् विमुञ्चत: ॥ ४ ॥
asmākaṁ ca mahān artho hy etenaiva bhaviṣyati yaśaś ca tava govinda rājño baddhān vimuñcataḥ
Sa pasyang ito, magkakaroon kami ng malaking pakinabang, at palalayain Mo ang mga haring nakagapos. Kaya, O Govinda, lalaganap ang Iyong kaluwalhatian.
In this verse, the captive kings declare that Kṛṣṇa’s act of releasing bound rulers brings great benefit to them and increases Govinda’s fame, highlighting His role as protector and restorer of dharma.
They appeal to Kṛṣṇa’s compassionate, protective nature—addressing Him as Govinda—to praise His expected mercy in freeing them and to acknowledge that such righteous protection enhances His renown.
Support and practice dharma by helping those unjustly constrained—through lawful, compassionate action—knowing that protecting others’ freedom and dignity is spiritually uplifting and socially beneficial.
