Rukmiṇī-haraṇa Prelude
This verse states that King Damaghoṣa arranged all auspicious, prosperity-bringing rites for his son, engaging expert mantra-knowing priests to conduct what was appropriate for celebration and success.
In the narrative context of Canto 10, Chapter 53, Damaghoṣa is preparing for his son Śiśupāla’s marriage-related festivities, commissioning qualified ritualists to ensure everything is performed according to auspicious Vedic custom.
It highlights the value of careful preparation and seeking qualified guidance for important life events—doing things properly, with auspicious intention, and with respect for tradition and expertise.
