Brahmā’s Prayers to Lord Kṛṣṇa (Brahmā-stuti) and the Restoration of Vraja’s Lunch Pastime
Actually, Lord Kṛṣṇa had killed the demon Aghāsura one year earlier, but the boys, bewildered by the mystic potency of Brahmā for one year, did not notice the time passing and thus thought that on that very day Lord Kṛṣṇa had killed the demon Aghāsura and was now returning home with them.
This verse shows the Vraja boys openly celebrating that Kṛṣṇa, Yaśodā’s beloved son, killed a deadly serpent and saved them—highlighting His role as the natural protector of His devotees.
Because they directly experienced deliverance from a life-threatening danger and recognized that their safety came by Kṛṣṇa, whom they affectionately identify as Yaśodā’s joy and son.
Remembering Kṛṣṇa as the protector encourages steady faith during fear or uncertainty, and inspires devotees to respond with gratitude, kīrtana, and deeper reliance on Him.
