ity ukto munibhir vyāsaḥ prahasyedam athābravīt śrūyatāṃ bho muniśreṣṭhā yad uktaṃ sādhu sādhv iti
Sage Vyasa
It marks the respectful rishi-assembly setting where the teacher confirms the worthiness of the question/request, establishing authority and auspiciousness before the teaching begins.
This verse shows the classic Purāṇic method: sages address the narrator (Vyāsa), who then invites attentive listening and proceeds to deliver the requested instruction.
Though Vishnu is not named in this verse, the narrative frame prepares for Vishnu-centered instruction; the Purāṇa’s authority and transmission ultimately serve to establish Vishnu’s sovereignty as the Supreme Reality in the coming discourse.
