अश्वत्थसेकं ये कुर्युः पथि पादपरोपकाः । विश्रामशालाकर्तारः श्रांतसंतापनोदकाः

aśvatthasekaṃ ye kuryuḥ pathi pādaparopakāḥ | viśrāmaśālākartāraḥ śrāṃtasaṃtāpanodakāḥ

ผู้ใดรดน้ำต้นอัศวัตถะ (โพธิ์/ไทรศักดิ์สิทธิ์) ริมทางเพื่อเกื้อกูลผู้เดินทาง ผู้ใดสร้างศาลาพัก และผู้ใดจัดน้ำนำความเย็นดับความเหนื่อยและความร้อนของผู้ล้า—ผู้นั้นชื่อว่าทำทานเกื้อกูลแท้จริง
