अथ नन्दीश्वरावतारमाह । सनत्कुमार उवाच । भवान्कथमनुप्राप्तो महादेवांशजः शिवम् । श्रोतुमिच्छामि तत्सर्वं वक्तुमर्हसि मे प्रभो

บัดนี้กล่าวถึงการอวตารของนันทีศวร สนะตกุมารกล่าวว่า “ข้าแต่พระผู้เป็นเจ้า ท่านมาบังเกิดเป็นอังศะแห่งมหาเทวะได้อย่างไร และได้เป็นบริวารผู้รับใช้พระศิวะอย่างไร ข้าปรารถนาจะฟังทั้งหมด โปรดเมตตากล่าวแก่ข้าด้วย”
