The Slaying of Kumbhakarna
कपिशोणितदिग्धाङ्गंभक्ष्यन्तंप्लवङ्गमान् ।कुम्भकर्णंस्थितंदृष्टवासुग्रीवोवाक्यमब्रवीत् ।।।।
kapiśoṇitadigdhāṅgaṃ bhakṣyantaṃ plavaṅgamān | kumbhakarṇaṃ sthitaṃ dṛṣṭvā sugrīvo vākyam abravīt ||
เมื่อสุครีวะเห็นกุมภกรรณยืนอยู่ตรงนั้น—กายชุ่มโชกด้วยโลหิตวานร ขณะเขากำลังกินเหล่าวานร—จึงกล่าวถ้อยคำแก่เขา
Sugriva spoke these words seeing Kumbhakarna who stood smeared with the blood of Vanaras and eating monkeys.
It frames adharma vividly—devouring opponents—so that Sugrīva’s forthcoming challenge stands as defense of life, order, and righteous resistance.
Sugrīva witnesses Kumbhakarṇa eating the Vānaras and prepares to address him directly.
