एवंविधानंलङ्कायांकृत्वाराक्षसपुङ्गवः ।कृतकृत्यमिवात्मानंमन्यतेकालचोदितः ।।।।
evaṃvidhānaṃ laṅkāyāṃ kṛtvā rākṣasapuṅgavaḥ | kṛtakṛtyam ivātmānaṃ manyate kālacoditaḥ || 6.36.21 ||
ครั้นจัดการกิจทั้งปวงในกรุงลงกาให้เป็นระเบียบแล้ว ยอดแห่งรากษส—ถูกกาละและชะตากรรมบีบคั้น—ก็สำคัญตนประหนึ่งว่ากิจของตนสำเร็จสิ้นแล้ว
"Sita who is like Lakshmi without the lotus has been brought from the forest. Why would I return her for the fear of Rama?"
Dharma underscores vigilance and self-examination; complacency and delusion, especially when driven by kāla, blind one to moral and practical realities.
After arranging Laṅkā’s defenses, Rāvaṇa becomes self-satisfied, as if the crisis were already resolved.
The passage emphasizes the need for prudence (prājñatā); Rāvaṇa instead displays moha (misguided confidence).
