Ravana’s Council Address and Kumbhakarna’s Counsel
सामेवशय्यामारोढुमिच्छत्यलसगामिनी ।त्रिषुलोकेषुचान्यामेनसीतासदृशीमता ।।6.12.13।।
sā meva śayyām āroḍhum icchaty alasagāminī | triṣu lokeṣu cānyām enāṃ sītā-sadṛśīm atā ||
นางผู้ก้าวย่างอย่างสงบเสงี่ยมไม่ยอมขึ้นสู่แท่นบรรทมของเรา และในสามโลกนี้ เรามิได้เห็นสตรีใดเสมอเหมือนนางสีดา
"Sita who walks modestly did not like to enter into my bed (love me ) however much I prayed. I do not think there is anyone who looks like her in the three worlds."
Dharma requires respecting consent and boundaries; desire that ignores autonomy becomes adharma and leads to ruin, as the epic repeatedly demonstrates.
Rāvaṇa boasts to his council that Sītā refused him despite his attempts, and he praises her unmatched beauty.
Sītā’s steadfast fidelity and refusal to yield (implicit), contrasted with Rāvaṇa’s uncontrolled desire.
