Tara’s Lament and Counsel after Vali’s Fall
अभिद्रुतमिदं सर्वं विद्रुतं प्रसृतं बलम्।अस्मिन् प्लवगशार्दूले हते शक्रसमप्रभे।।
abhidrutam idaṃ sarvaṃ vidrutaṃ prasṛtaṃ balam | asmin plavagaśārdūle hate śakrasamaprabhē ||
เมื่อพญาวานรผู้เป็นดุจพยัคฆ์ในหมู่วานร ผู้รุ่งเรืองประหนึ่งศักระ (อินทรา) ถูกสังหาร กองทัพวานรทั้งสิ้นก็หวาดผวา แตกกระเจิง และหนีไปทุกทิศ
'When Vali who was equal to Indra in strength, a tiger among monkeys, was killed, the army of monkeys got terrified and ran away here and there, scattered in different directions.
It highlights the social impact of a leader’s fall: dharma requires stabilizing the community after crisis rather than yielding to panic and disorder.
Following Vāli’s death, the monkey forces lose cohesion and scatter in fear.
By contrast, it emphasizes the need for steadiness and leadership in adversity—showing what is lost when a central figure falls.
