Jatayu’s Combat with Ravana
na hi jātu durādharṣau kākutsthau tava rāvaṇa | dharṣaṇaṃ cāśramasyāsya kṣamiṣyete tu rāghavau ||
O Ravana ! know that Rama and Lakshmana, the Kakutsthas, are invincible. They will not forgive the asssault you have made on their hermitage.
Dharma protects sacred spaces and the vulnerable; violating an āśrama and abducting another’s wife invites righteous retribution.
Jaṭāyu warns that Rāma and Lakṣmaṇa will respond to Rāvaṇa’s violation and cannot be defeated.
Maryādā (moral boundaries): the verse underscores that transgressing protected norms triggers just consequences.
